Judging Gifts by Their Covers

Sprightly holy sprigs, jaunty Santas, Christmas trees trimmed to the top: these are the familiar gifts-wrapping imagery of holiday past. But this year there are welcome alternatives. Sophisticated computer-generated patterns, fine art, and fabric worthy of reusing will cover some of the best-dressed boxes this season.

For a truly memorable presentation, Tobias Wong, a New York designer, will wrap a package in an Andy Warhol screen print (not poster) costing $7,500 to $25,000, depending on the print selected. Just be sure the recipient doesn’t rip it while unwrapping; at Troy.
